What is a fixed mindset? Are you feeling blocked or stuck? You have a big message to share with the world, but something gets in the way, and you can’t quite put your finger on it.
As a business coach, mindset is always at the top of the list of things we address.
Why? Many things seem to get in the way of new coaches feeling blocked, but forward movement can rarely happen until the issue’s root is addressed.
And mindset makes all the difference in a coach’s career.

What Is a Fixed Mindset?
This is an idea that you were born with or without certain qualities and talents.
For example, you may think, “I’m not good at reading. I never have been.” Or you might say, “I want to paint landscapes but I wasn’t born an artist.”
The problem with this mindset is that it keeps you stuck. You limit your experiences and feelings based on what you think you can achieve.
But there is an alternative point of view called a growth mindset.
How Does a Fixed Mindset Impact You?
A fixed mindset can affect every area of your life, even if you don’t realize it. For example, it can affect your finances. You might say, “I’ve never had a head for numbers, so I’m not going to use a monthly budget system.”
Another part of your life where this mindset can be troublesome is your business. For example, you might think, “I’ll never succeed in business, or I am not enough.”
Are You Willing to Let Go?
There’s no easy way out of a fixed mindset — especially if you’ve carried these beliefs your whole life. Letting go of this mindset isn’t an overnight process.
It often takes weeks or months to work through the emotions. But the feeling of liberation is worth it.
And you can pat yourself on the back because just by reading the steps in this article, you’re one step closer to that growth mindset! So challenge your limits by changing your mindset!
