Are you accepting the support from colleagues? Do you think of yourself as a fairly independent person? Is it hard for you to ask for help?
Or maybe you’re a lone wolf in the world? If you’ve answered “yes” to any of these questions, today’s post is meant especially for you.
Those fiercely autonomous people often find it hard to depend on others.
However, when working toward a goal, leaning on those around you can be one of the best things you can do to improve your chances of achieving it.
Accepting the support of others offers a host of other benefits, including strengthening relationships and making life easier.
Let’s talk about some groups that help make your resolutions a success.
Accepting the Support of Cheerleaders, Coaches, and Cohorts
Accepting the Support of Cheerleaders
Your cheerleaders are the people who are there to encourage you from the sidelines. Their job is to cheer you on as you work toward winning and cheer you up when things aren’t going great!
We are encouraging words to go a long way to help us keep going. We all need this kind of people in our lives.
They can be family, friends, co-workers, support groups, etc. You may be surprised to find out just how motivating it can be to have a support system of people that cheer you on!
Accepting the Support of Coaches
While cheerleaders tend to be the people in your inner circle who know you, coaches are usually people you’ve hired or recruited for a specific purpose.
For instance, someone whose goal is to run a marathon might look for a personal trainer to help them get in shape, improve their eating habits, and discover ways to increase their endurance.
Or someone who wants to build stronger relationships might hire a Relationship coach.
Starting a business might have you looking for a business coach, or if you need help with goals in general, maybe hiring a life coach could benefit you,
A cohort is a unique support system. This is usually a group of people working alongside you to accomplish the same thing you are.
Sometimes “cohort” is the term used for a group of students who are in the same program in school.
They will take the same classes together, work as a group on projects and support each other throughout their educational journey. These groups can be found in other settings also.
Any collaboration of people working together to achieve the same goal qualifies as a group coaching program, a mastermind group, a group course, etc.,
They can be beneficial in so many ways. First, because they are going through the same experience, they can understand what you are going through.
They can provide a good support system and motivation.
Once you practice accepting the support from cheerleaders, coaches, and cohorts, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it!
